What did 65 million years of evolution turn the dinosaurs into? Birds!
Wrapping up our “Unearth a Story” Celebration, the Vermont Institute of Natural Science is excited to introduce you to some live birds of prey and learn all about their dinosaur ancestry together.
Open to all ages.

To paint, converse, & enjoy each other’s company.
*Please bring in your own painting supplies and table coverings. This is a self directed class for seasoned painters with no instructor.

Games are Euro-styled or designer games that are a mix of chance and skill and emphasize strategy, indirect competition and resource management.

Can this road trip get any worse?
It’s summertime and 17-year-old Coley has found herself alone, again. Forced to move to rural Oregon after just losing her mother, she is in no position to risk her already fragile heart. But when she meets Sonya, the attraction is immediate.
Coley worries she isn’t worthy of love. Up until now, everyone she’s loved has left her. And Sonya’s never been with a girl before. What if she’s too afraid to show up for Coley? What if by opening her heart, Coley’s risking it all?
They both realize that when things are pushed down, and feelings are forced to shrivel away, Coley and Sonya will be the ones to shrink. It’s not until they accept the love they fear and deserve most, that suddenly the song makes sense.

Mahjong Drop In
Saturdays from 10:30-12:30 upstairs on the 2nd floor in the back.
Mahjong players continue to meet upstairs on the 2nd floor in the back. This is an ongoing, self-directed group. Both the Chinese and the American versions may be played.
This is a drop-in for players who are familiar to the game. If you are new, others may be able to help but this is not a class with instruction.

Teen Hangout
1st and 3rd Wednesdays
Open teen hangout.
Middle and high school kids ages 13 – 18 can come on their own after school to talk, play, and just hang out.
The SAL Room will be available as a safe and welcoming space for teens to just be themselves. Youth will be expected to adhere to the library’s behavior policy.
